Why we constantly seek someone’s appreciation and acceptance?

Why we think that if others consider me of any value and substance then only I start believing in myself?

Why we need other’s consent in the decisions of our life?

Why we enslave ourselves to get someone’s attention?

Why we lose our freedom for someone’s approval?

Why we consistently jeopardise our self-esteem just to fit in?

Why we wear a fake smile when my heart is choked to the point of giving it all up?

Why we ruin our days, months & years in self-pity just by perpetually being the victim of criticisms, disapproval, rejections, declines, refusal & dismissals?

Why? Why? Why?

The answer lies in us, the answer is there in our own belief system, in our thought spectrum. From ages, we have given utmost importance to societal acceptance but acceptance in the name of what.. drudgery, slavery, quavery with fear, terror, panic and agitation? And this is how we draw the connotation of our existence, our identity & substance. What a sorry state we create of ourselves by following this age-old pattern…

No more and no longer we should feel hopeless, hapless & helpless in the hands of people who in no way are responsible for our enhancement, betterment, enrichment or improvement.

They are the same people who would laugh if we fall, they would satisfy their ego if we face failure, they would talk behind our back or straight away comment at our face if we fail in our endeavours.

So, do we need to bother for them those who have never bothered for us?

But following the footprints of  positive psychologists, I can proudly declare one good news that we are in a better zone knowing we have to be aware of handful of people now, those who truly matter to us by not getting into the world of worriment thinking of the entire universe and specifically the lot who create havoc and become our roadblocks. We will outgrow our fear and inhibitions by cleaning the mess & chaos created by people those who were always there in the unwanted list of our very much wanted and wishful life.

Our job is getting easier, our crowd is getting lesser & our life is becoming smoother by believing that less is always more. So, let me pour my heart out by saying that I am living a life being at peace with myself because I am living my life just once and this is the one life I have. So, let us make it simpler, sweeter, merrier, happier & better…
