When did you wish for something with all your heart and what was that?
Was it something you REALLY wanted & wished for strongly with great intensity or it was momentary like you went to a shop loved that dress on the mannequin or that watch in the shelf and found yourself glued to it.
Are your wishes always rational, logical in it’s truest sense or they are some kind of out of the blue fanciful connotation? When I was longing for a career in “Human Potential Development” in 2000, something really magical was awaiting… it was an Indian television game show called Kaun Banega Crorepati ( KBC) & I used to zero in on it so much like fevicol ka majboot jod. And I used to watch KBC just way too much not because I had some deep inclination towards enhancing my intelligence or enriching my general knowledge sense but because the man who was sitting not on the hot seat but surely making the show piping hot with his quintessential candour and invincible charm, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan to say the least.
The show was at 9 o’clock and at that time the roads were deserted as if the normal life had come to a virtual standstill in all the big & small cities of India, it used to bring traffic to a halt. And everyone watching it was playing the man/woman on the hot seat sitting at their comfort zones of home. The moment the background music starts after Mr. Bachchan‘s optionwalla lines everybody’s hearts beat faster than any fastest formula 1 car & there you go with correct answers almost everytime…
“Oh, Yes”.. “bull’s eye”, everyone used to feel like champions giving pats at their back and screaming at top of their voices “I knew the answer”.
And in the process, they would almost reach at “aakhri padao’’ (last round) as Mr. Bachchan pronounce it with his heart piercing voice. And if you could answer that last question, then the reaction of despair would instantaneously come as pizza with cheese.. kaash.. main hot seat pe hota, toh mein crorepati ban jata.. kaash ( Had I been there, I would have won)
We just go on wishing like that.. all random wishes but not a concrete one .. not one with utmost passion and dedication.. why wish ?? why you were not there and why the ones sitting on hot seat were proudly there ?? They had put in efforts, invested their time, found out how to participate or register for KBC , they dialed from their landline numbers they really tried umpteen things.
When you wish for something and want it with all your heart.. you go out of your way leaving your comfort zone/ your cocoon, you simply stick to your goal, take that plunge, pitch in and strive really hard to fulfill that wish.
Don’t just wish..dig deep into it..explore options..go for trial and error..in the journey fall then get up..again fall..then fiercely take your charge and stand errect..again fall..but rise to your expectation to make your wish fulfilled. In the movie “Om shanti om” Shahrukh khan has put it so convincingly, “ Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho.. to poori kainath use tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai..” ( If you wish for something with all your heart then the entire universe gears up to gift it to you)
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale who is notably known as the progenitor of the theory of positive thinking very rightfully quoted “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” So give your wish wings to fly, be committed to it and believe that you will surely succeed in fulfilling it.. that faith and trust would be the greatest motivator to accelerate your chances of making your wish come true.
