I was getting late for my appointment with an elite client, so was trying my level best to finish an article for my blog as soon as I could and there came my better half (my husband) my timer.. for rescue, someone who keeps me on my toes and keep on reminding me of my deadlines, my posts. His concerns are always way more than mine and almost every time he’s ready with his GYAAN on how much productive we could be…
According to his experienced version “A stitch in time saves nine”.. so you have to be multi functional, a great juggler and so much passionately focused in your work that you could actually deliver more than you expect, all these motivational sessions that I get for free with my morning tea are resplendent and empowering throughout my day.
So that day my meeting with the client really went well leaving me hopeful for the project “ Heal to Deal “ so much so that I visualize some important headers for the workshop in my mind’s eyes almost instantaneously and the entire credit goes to someone who has vowed to support me for life and he does it with so much aplomb each time.
Once in a restaurant over piping hot coffee, I asked him jokingly almost abruptly that am I that ultimate homely girl everybody wants to take home to ?? As I am a professional I work outside I don’t serve you food cooking it all by myself all the time, so am I living up to your expectations of being a good wife someone who efficiently takes care of home? Am I that homely ??
Listening to this, he answered me very aptly, “It’s not about you or me shouldering responsibility, it’s not about you or me taking care of the job at the home front or out of it, it’s not about you or me rearing up our child with utmost care and attention. It’s not you or me. It’s YOU & ME. It’s you with me together. It’s about US.”
Believe me, it was so enriching. So encouraging and empowering coming from someone whom I always hold closest to my heart and hold high regard for knowing how he believes, realizes and understands my worth, my value in his life.
This candid confession was wrapped with so much sincerity and surprising candour that my jaws were almost dropped with exuberance and ebullience. And I learned such an important life lesson on that day from my in-house trainer, the GYAAN giver (My better half) that it’s not about a man’s work or a women’s work… HOME is a HUMAN WORK put together being together.
My heart goes out to all the women who choose what they want to be .. then only the real worth will be valued and respect will be secured. So no longer its stay home moms or working moms, homemakers or professional women.. no tags should be attached with our identity cause the ground reality is we all love our home. Home is where the heart is so we all are homely by heart … no ifs no buts…
